The Matrok is the architect and creator of the Abyss. She is the daughter of the Moon King and Sun Queen. She represents the darkness of the deep underground earth. If you burrow into the earth in three dimensions you reach magma. If you burrow in three more you meet The Matron. She is the soul of the dark gravity well at the heart of the planet.
Throughout the abyss are many shrines and dedications to her, by lost souls who think that appeasing her will spare them from the Devils. The success of this is entirely determined by whim.
