The Jabberwock is a shambling undead monster made of rotting meat. It represents aging, carnal pleasure, and leering desire. It is named after Lewis Carol and is an embodiment of his pedophillic persuasions.

PERSONALITY Flowery, carnal, euphemistic, overly-innocent, begging naïveté.

ATTACKS Slowly stalks and approaches Termite. Will rake her once then run off.

APPEARANCE Invisible while seeing clearly. Faint outline and footsteps when vision hazy. Fully visible when eyes closed.

It appears to be a six-legged draconic creature, emaciated and leperous. It's bones are exposed in many places, and its head resembles a deer skull but with a mostly-intersected duplicate mouth.

FENDING OFF To temporarily dissuade the Jabberwock, remove your glasses and look directly at it with your eyes closed. When it leaps forward to attack you, it will be teleported far away.

You can detect its presence as well by listening to its whispering. As it gets close the whispers grow louder. Its whispers sound like two voices speaking at once. “It speaks from both sides of it's mouth at once.” - it is stuck arguing with itself about what it desires and what it loathes.

To permanently disable the Jabberwock, you must destroy copies of Alice in Wonderland, which it uses as portals.

KILLING THE JABBERWOCK The one way to kill the Jabberwock is to fight it blindfolded, under an anti-telport sigil so it can't escape. Once you kill it you will be taken to The Stairway, where you can have one last conversation with it before it returns to The Sea.

HISTORY w/ TERMITE Termite first began to see The Jabberwock when she turned ten. She witnessed it feast on a friend's sister at a slumber party. She was always fascinated by it, and wondered why it would not eat her. It has since then occasionally appeared at a distance, staring at her. Occasionally it leaves a note for her which only says “Bloom”. It writes these notes on the walls. She got in trouble for this as a child, and nobody has ever believed her about its existence.

When Termite began HRT, the jabberwock started getting closer. It refuses to take her, and she has overheard it whispering that she is “too old”. Some part of her resents that incompatibility. It too is torn between its desire for her and its repulsion at her adulthood.

HISTORY w/ ABADDON The Jabberwock is not particularly interesting to Abaddon, beyond it competing for Termite. As Abaddon only wants Termite's arms, it is happy to let the Jabberwock have the rest of her. When Termite began asking if Abaddon's Cure would free her from the Jabberwock, he told her, honestly, that it would not.

HISTORY w/ THE MATRON Doesn't care about it.

HISTORY w/ THE MARCH He began to see The Jabberwock after his six-year-old daughter died. It appeared at the funeral, over the hill, under a tree, watching. When March ran after it, all he found under the tree was a copy of Alice in Wonderland.

March's friends never saw it, and didn't believe it was real. Friend believes him, though he has never seen it himself.
