====== Brooding Blade ======

A Brooding Blade is any type of sword, knife, dagger, etc. that carries a shard of someone's personality, that has developed into a sort of consciousness of it's own. They are often violent, sociopathic, and hateful, tending to utterly loathe anyone, including their owner. They will often try to convince their owner to go on a sadistic rampage, and if their owner begins dying, may even start possessing the limb that carries them.

The most difficult part of a Brooding Blade is that it's actually difficult to tell whether it exists or not. An individual can only own a Brooding Blade if they themselves created it, and the only people who are able to speak to it must be in the presence of the owner while doing so. Therefor it is possible that Brooding Blades are not actually a separate being, but a result of split personalities running in parallel. The dominant personality, the main one, is in the wielder, while the sociopathic personality, which was somehow formed over time, has been explained as being part of the sword. This may be a way for the owner to cope with the second personality, by removing it from their head.

This theory is compounded by the fact that people who own Brooding Blades tend to have had dark histories or pasts, often spending massive amounts of time in utter seclusion. Furthermore, owners will claim that the sword is speaking openly, and will even be able to pinpoint the exact direction the voice comes from, yet nobody else can ever hear the blade if it speaks.
